Young Adolescents' Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
Adolescents 10 – 14 years old make up 9 percent of the world’s population and as much as 15 percent in some low- and middle-income countries. These young people have a right to age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health information, education, and services that enable them to deal positively and responsibly with their sexuality. Programs and policies are typically designed for older adolescents, however.
IWHC's series on young adolescents uses evidence on the sexual and reproductive knowledge and behaviors of 10 - 14-year-olds to argue for more responsive policies and programs regionally and globally. Click on the links below to download a copy of each issue brief.
