THE 110TH CONGRESS

Stay Informed, Take Action:
An Advocate's Guide to Legislation that Impacts Women and Young People

In January 2007, the 110th Congress came to session in Washington, D.C., representing a new opportunity to advocate for legislation that will promote and protect women's and young people's sexual and reproductive health and rights.

In previous session of Congress, a handful of policymakers worked to promote legislation that could have a profound—and profoundly counterproductive—impact on women and girls in the United States and around the world. Many of the bills that were proposed (or passed) in the 109th Congress would have limited women's and young people's access to health information and undermined their right to complete, confidential, and affordable healthcare.

Developed and maintained by the International Women's Health Coalition, "Stay Informed, Take Action" is every citizen's guide to understanding and acting on these bills. It is a complement to our ongoing monitoring of the Bush administration, "Bush's Other War," available at www.bushsotherwar.org.
