Education for Girls Is Crucial to End Child Marriage but Must be Part of Broader Effort, Urge NGOs

Getting the world’s 32 million out-of-school girls back into education will be crucial to end child marriage, stated a group of non-governmental organizations on the eve of a high level roundtable on child marriage. But the groups emphasized that there is no single solution to end a practice that denies an estimated 14 million girls a year their rights to health, education, choice, and security.
