2006 United Nations High-Level Meeting on AIDS Print
At the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS (UNGASS) in 2001, the world agreed to empower women and girls against the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Since then, there has been a lot of talk about their disproportionate vulnerability to HIV/AIDS—but little to no action.

From May 31-June 2, 2006 the world's governments and civil society convened at the United Nations to review the progress made since the first UNGASS in 2001. At the meeting, IWHC worked to reshape policies and resources to empower and protect women and girls against the pandemic.
