Annotated Bibliography: Gender and Health Sector Reform

>>Available in Word and PDF

Summary: By Rama Lakshminarayanan (New York: International Women’s Health Coalition, 2003). A selected compilation and review of English-language publications from 1995 to the present dealing with gender and health sector reform. The publications are divided into three categories: (1) those that provide an overview of key issues in current work on health sector reform, gender equity, and women’s health; (2) those that deal with specific reforms and their impact on women’s health; and (3) those that analyze regional and country reform experiences from a gender perspective. Prepared through an extensive search of the existing literature with the aim of providing the broadest possible spectrum of views from a developing world standpoint, this bibliography is intended for policy makers, health service providers, and women’s health advocates (16 pages).
