| The African Partnership for the Sexual and Reproductive Rights of Women and Girls (Amanitare) |
Since it began in 2000, Amanitare has raised the profile of sexual and reproductive rights and health (SRRH) on the African continent and provided a critical regional voice on the issues. The partnership seeks to create a platform for dialogue and consensus building, information exchange, skills training to coordinate advocacy at policy level and to build support among various popular constituencies towards social transformation. IWHC provides professional partnership to Amanitare, the first Pan-African network advocating for the rights of women to control their bodies, protect their sexual health and rights, and live free from violence. Since its inception, Amanitare has raised the profile of sexual and reproductive rights and health. IWHC helped support Amanitare’s first general membership meeting which charted Amanitare’s strategy. Amanitare is based in South Africa. To learn more about Amanitare, visit their website. |
