New York March for Women's Lives, August 2004 Print E-mail

On August 28, 2004, New York showed its support for women's health and rights in a peaceful rally and march across the Brooklyn Bridge. IWHC, together with 15 other locally based organizations, co-sponsored the event, which drew 25,000 women, men, and children from New York City and beyond, all marching under the banner of sexual and reproductive justice—including global family planning; real sex education; accessible, safe and legal abortion; contraceptive options; the right to privacy regarding sexuality; and equal access to health care.
