Women and Girls at the Crossroads:
IWHC's Inaugural Gala, January 2002
On January 29, 2002, the International Women's Health Coalition held its first Benefit Dinner at the American Museum of Natural History's Powerhouse Room. The evening's theme was "Women and Girls at the Crossroads," and our special guests were Mairo Bello, Director of the Adolescent Health & Information Project (AHIP) in Nigeria, which IWHC has supported since 1996, and actress and activist Jane Fonda. The evening featured an excerpt from the documentary film produced for IWHC and narrated by Ms. Fonda, "Generation 2000: Changing Girls' Realities."
