 The International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) has named Françoise Girard, long-time women’s champion in the fields of global health and human rights, as its new President. Girard has a distinguished history in these fields with a particular focus on women’s health, sexual and reproductive rights, sexuality and HIV/AIDS. Girard will work closely with IWHC’s staff, board, partner organizations in Africa, Asia and Latin America, international agencies and donors to advance its work for sexual and reproductive rights and health for women and girls worldwide. She assumes the position in IWHC’s New York headquarters, following the retirement of the Coalition’s long-time president, Adrienne Germain.
